Road Department Equipment - Preparing for Winter Weather

WINTER WEATHER WARNING: The National Weather Service has issued a notice for a Winter Storm Watch overnight Wednesday February 12th, and in the morning Thursday, February 13th.

Freezing temperatures and heavy mixed precipitation are possible. This may result in rain, freezing rain, ice accumulations, sleet, or snow. Drivers are urged to use caution, and minimize travel as much as possible through the duration of this event.

Linn County Road Department has applied an anti-icing compound in anticipation of this event. Crews will be ready with snow plows and sanders should they be needed. Be advised that these efforts have limited effects in the event freezing rain.
