Restitution
Restitution, both informal and formal, may be ordered by the Juvenile Department and the Circuit Court.
All youth who are ordered to pay restitution, must do so in full by the end of the probation period. If it is not paid by this time, the restitution is collected through a money award ordered by the court and often collected by the State Department of Revenue by wage or other garnishment. Juveniles are also expected to complete victim offender mediation for non-person-to-person crimes whenever there is a willing identifiable victim.
- Informal Restitution (Determined on a case by case basis) ( money order/cashier’s check only )
- Formal Restitution (Determined on a case by case basis) shall be paid through the Circuit Court.
