Mental Health Program Interns
Currently, all internship positions are filled for the FY23-24 school year.
Please continue to check back periodically for instructions on how to pursue an internship with Linn County.
QMHP level placement:
Linn County Health Services’ Mental Health Department supports graduate students in nationally accredited master’s degree programs interested in exploring careers in the mental health field. Using highly qualified on-site staff, it provides an unpaid field experience program. Candidates must have advanced placement standing and meet requirements as a Mental Health Intern under ORS 309-019-0125
Placement is available in settings that may include child and family, crisis, and services to persons experiencing chronic mental illness. Selection is based upon intern qualifications, preference and program capacity. Interns serve clients in Albany, Lebanon and Sweet Home communities. Under supervision, accepted Interns are expected to deliver all aspects of clinical service including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment delivery, outcome measurement and HIPAA standard documentation.
Formally, interns receive weekly individual supervision and monthly team supervision in addition to school site visit requirements. Informally, interns receive an abundance of consultation with staff and supervisor as the need arises. They will also participate in other activities as deemed necessary before and during the assignment of clients. These activities include shadowing staff and chart review.
For consideration, email a cover letter describing goals for internship; an unofficial academic transcript documenting academic training, and a resume chronicling previous relevant experience to Jeff Taylor, LCSW, Supervising Mental Health Specialist j.taylor@co.linn.or.us
