Babies First!
Babies First! is Oregon’s public health nurse home visiting program supporting children, parents, and caregivers. Babies First! provides support during and after pregnancy, throughout infancy, and for children through their 5th birthday. Partnering with a Babies First! nurse helps families identify needs that can be met, improves health outcomes for children, and offers educational and supportive resources.
During a Babies First! home visit, you and your nurse will work together to:
- Identify goals for health and wellness
- Connect you to helpful community resources
- Complete health screenings, including weighing your baby
- Problem solve and answer questions
- Provide support for healthy relationships
- Build a loving and fun relationship with your child
