Linn County Medical Reserve Corps
The Linn County Medical Reserve Corps (LCMRC) is a team of medical and support personnel available to provide volunteer surge capacity in times of need. Volunteers are trained and ready to support medical and emergency response activities in the event of a natural or man-made disaster or other public health emergency.
In the event of an emergency which requires surge personnel, it is important that volunteers be pre-trained, credentialed, and organized in order to facilitate smooth and rapid integration into response efforts. The LCMRC increases community resiliency by providing such a pool of volunteers who are ready to respond in times of need.
Our mission
The mission of the Linn County Medical Reserve Corps is to enhance the emergency preparedness and response capabilities in Linn County by recruiting and training a corps of medical, non-medical and public health volunteers to assist in response to a local disaster or public health emergency.
Our Volunteers
Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, including medical, counseling, administrative, and other professional fields, and span a wide range of ages. Most volunteers live or work within Linn County, but there is no residency requirement. All individuals who wish to volunteer with the LCMRC and who are able to respond to a Linn County event in a timely fashion are eligible to apply. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and able to provide their own transportation to LCMRC events and activities.

However, there are required trainings and an orientation to complete in order to become an active member. To keep your membership current, we do require attendance with at least one unit activity each year. This can include a meeting, training, mission or event.
